Cleaning sterling silver jewellery
In time, sterling silver jewellery can tarnish; however, it can be easily cleaned by gently washing the jewellery in warm water with a little dishwashing liquid and then rinsing it in cold water and leaving it to dry. To remove a thicker layer of tarnish (except where jewellery has been oxidised), place the jewellery in a bowl with a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda and cover with warm water. Wait a few minutes then rinse with cold water and leave to dry. Lastly, polish with a silver cleaning cloth.
